Accessibility

The Internet presentation of information on the various instruments of the export guarantee scheme (AGA) of the Federal Republic of Germany is modelled on the accessibility guidelines for websites. It is constantly checked and improved in particular with regard to newly developed technology, software and standards; these works are carried out continuously on the AGA Portal.

If you have any queries or comments on the subject of accessibility, please feel free to send them to the address info(at)exportkreditgarantien.de. You can also contact us by telephone under the number 040/88 34 91 92.

Use of Cascading Style Sheets (css)

The pages of the AGA Portal were designed using css. This means the contents and layout are completely separated so that every user can use his or her own format settings (colours, fonts and type sizes, display of pictures, etc.).

Type size

The type sizes used on the pages of the AGA Portal can be dynamically adapted and set according to your individual preferences.

Pictures, graphics and symbols

We refrained from using graphical representations of texts. Any images that are important for the content (navigation buttons, pictures) contain alternative text.

Navigation

The links in the navigation bars can be selected through the keyboard using the tab key. We refrained from instituting short-cuts because a standard does not yet exist.

Skipping of navigation blocks

For blind and visually handicapped persons, who are dependent on screen readers or voice browsers, as well as for character-oriented browsers, there are so-called skip links at the beginning of each website which speed up navigation to the desired position (e.g. directly to the content).

Website structure

The contents of all AGA Portal websites are structured using logical HTML tags.

Frame sets

No frames are used for the AGA Portal.

Links

Within the AGA Portal links normally open in the same browser window. External links are opened in windows corresponding to the user settings. Such links contain a relevant reference.

Straightforward link targets

For the link targets within the AGA Portal straightforward terms were chosen in order to clearly characterize them. External links and pdf or Word files have a description as "title" in addition.

Browser and screen resolution

Older browsers may have difficulties representing the AGA Portal. Browsers which can be employed without any problems are Mozilla, Firefox, Opera Internet Explorer from version 5.5 on and Netscape Navigator 7. The pages of AGA Portal can be read also with a lower screen resolution; however, an individual adjustment of the representation may be useful.

Language

The language of each page within the AGA Portal is defined in the source code of the pages.

Orientation in data tables

Any tables within the AGA Portal are used exclusively for the representation of tabular data. The classification of the individual lines meets common standards for accessible Internet pages. In this way auxiliary programmes can allocate the data cells to the respective header cells.

Search engine and sitemap

The search engine within the AGA Portal finds texts and articles with the search word that was entered. The search field can be reached with the tab key. The results are shown as a list of links. The sitemap is a list of all menu levels (table of contents) and provides an overview over the page's structure.

Printing of documents

In the top of the content section of each page you will find the link "print version". This version enables you to print a text in DIN A4 format without the display of navigation, head bar, right column and bottom line. You can start printing through the link in the new window.

PDF documents

At the address http://www.adobe.de/enterprise/accessibility/main.html you will find information on the use of pdf documents.

Abbreviations

Hardly any abbreviations are used in the texts on the Internet pages. Where abbreviations are used, they are explained.

Individual speed

No automatic procedures are established on the pages of the AGA Portal which will abort an action when a time limit is exceeded.
