Category A projects before final commitment 2020

Category A projects, i.e. projects which may have serious environmental, social or human rights impacts, are published no later than 30 days before a final decision on the granting of export credit cover is taken. Subsequent firm commitments for cover are not recorded in this list.

The project consists in the construction and operation of a pulp and paper plant with an annual production capacity of 180,000 tons pulp and 450,000 tons paper in an industrial area, located 12 km northeast of the city of Jining.

The project consists in the construction and operation of casting and rolling complex for steel products to an existing facility of Uzmetkombinat JSC. The site is located in close to the city of Bekabad in the Tashkent region.

The project consists in the rehabilitation of an approx. 64 km long section of the Eastern Corridor Road (ECR Lot 1).

The project consists of the construction and operation of a wind farm with 12 wind turbines and a generation capacity of 40.8 MW. The project is located about 60 km northwest of Istanbul.

The project consists in the construction and operation of the “Amur” Chemical Complex for the production of polyethylene and polypropylene. The site is located in the far east of the Russian Federation in the Amur district appr. 500 km northwest of Vladivostok.

The project consists in the construction and operation of the Bozüyük Wind Farm 80 km southeast of Bursa, with a capacity of 92.5 MW.

The project consists in the expansion of a plant for the production of cardboard and packaging paper. The expansion will result in an increase of the production capacity by about 61% from 450,000 to 725,000 tons annually. The project is located in the town of Obbola, some 15 km southeast of Umeå.

The project consists in the construction and operation of a combine cycle power plant with a capacity of 900 MW. The project includes decommissioning of two heavy fuel oil/gas power plant units. The project is located in Port Quasim, Karachi.

The project consists in the expansion of a wind farm on the Karaburun peninsula some 50 km west of Izmir, which was put into service at the end of 2013, by 37 additional wind turbines.More detailed information on the project’s environmental, social and human rights aspects can be found in the Non-Technical-Summary (PDF, 1,35 MB).

Reporting to the OECD

The publication of Category A and B projects for which cover has been granted is part of the rules laid down by the OECD Common Approaches. Category A and B projects as defined in the Common Approaches which are supported with export credit guarantees are reported to the OECD. Here, you will find an overview of the OECD for all member countries.

In 2019 10 projects classified as Category A having an order value of 4.9 billion euros and 26 projects classified as Category B having an order value of 1.5 billion euros were supported with an export credit guarantee. Details can be found in the Annual Report 2019.

Supported projects 2020

If the contract value of a project exceeds EUR 15 million, basic project data are published after a final commitment for cover has been made provided that the exporter has given its consent. This information is brought up to date at the beginning of each month however with a time-lag of three months.

The order values are divided into the following categories:

  • Category 1: up to Euro 15 million
  • Category 2: up to Euro 50 million
  • Category 3: up to Euro 100 million
  • Category 4: up to Euro 200 million
  • Category 5: above Euro 200 million
