Meeting result of the Coordination Meeting between PIU and CoE
hosted by the ECAs in Zurich, 18./19. 10. 2007

The execution of all environmental measures (resettlement, cultural heritage, environment/water) has become legally binding by the "Instruction of the Prime Ministry of 24. 08. 2007 to implement the project along the stipulations of the UEIAR, URAP, FAM Agreement and TOR respectively".

Goal of this meeting was to establish the working procedures between CoE and PIU and to proceed with the activities on environmental issues in a coordinated manner as agreed in the FAM/TOR.

The agreements and conclusions are

  • All CoE members finally nominated are accepted by DSI and by the ECAs
  • The budget for the experts and the payment procedure has been agreed
  • A progress status from the PIU of the activities at the site was presented by PIU
  • PIU agreed that the expropriation cases will be jointly reviewed. In case of discrepancies to the TOR the necessary adjustments will be made
  • All expropriation/resettlement will be made strictly along the TOR
  • The first common site visit of PIU and CoE was agreed to take place within short
  • A new time schedule for the TOR has been proposed by the PIU considering the time elapsed since the signature of the FAM Agreement. Agreement on new deadlines will be made at the latest during the upcoming site visit
  • The key persons of the PIU attended the meeting. The other members of the PIU will be nominated by DSI within short
  • A first report by the CoE will appear in the beginning of 2008
