Projects that may have a significant environmental impact have to be analysed prior to their implementation to ascertain their direct and indirect impact. Applications for state export credit guarantees are screened in this respect in the course of their processing. The basis is the "Common Approaches" Recommendation on Common Approaches on Environment and Officially Supported Export Credits (80.1 KB) of the OECD. The results of any Environmental Impact Assessment, which has been carried out, are published together with other project documents before a final decision is taken.

In connection with the planning for the hydro-electric power plant Ilisu three subject areas were identified on which detailed reports were prepared. These reports are available on the Internet page of the Consortium and can be accessed via the following links:
