Parties involved in the project

The Turkish sponsor DSI commissioned a consortium to plan and build the hydro-electric power plant. A consortium of banks grants finance credits to the construction consortium which are partly secured through the Export Credit Agencies (ECAs) of Austria, Germany and Switzerland.

At a meeting prior to the signing of the contract, the general set-up for the implementation of the project was jointly fixed in the FAM Agreed Minutes. An independent international COE - Committee of Experts (55 KB) monitors the correct implementation of the measures and reports to the ECAs. At the same time the experts provide support and advice to the Project Implementation Unit (PIU), which was set up by the DSI.
